Round 5 of 9 · கொள்கை
The doctrine
The whole philosophy, step by step, where the hymns and the Sastras meet, and the first two Sastras to read.
You have walked ahead of your lamps
You are welcome here, and may read on. These lamps on the rounds below are not yet lit; this round will open more fully once they are:
The fifth circuit is complete: you have walked through the whole doctrine and read the first of the Sastras.
Next, more of the Sastras: the two oldest, and the short works that follow.
The circuit is not yet complete
The lotus of this round blooms when all its lamps are lit. Still to light:
Look back on this roundWhat it holds, its lamps and gems, and its inner path
The whole philosophy, step by step; where the hymns and the Sastras meet; and the first two Sastras to read.
Everything learned in pieces on the rounds below comes together here as one picture. The guide on this round walks through the doctrine in ten steps, with the traditional analogies and a teacher's everyday explanations beside every hard idea. Then two pages show how the hymns already sing what the Sastras set out, and how the Sastras quote the hymns. The Agamas and the thirty-six tattvas follow.
The round ends with the two Sastras tradition gives a beginner: Unmai Vilakkam, a simple exposition in questions and answers, and Tiruvarutpayan, Umapathi's hundred couplets on the fruit of grace. Tiruvarutpayan can also be read, a couplet at a time, in the author's app: Tiruvarutpayan on Google Play.
